Al Ahly Opens Negotiations to Renew Mostafa Shobeir's Contract
Sunday 22-02-2026
Al Ahly's management has begun efforts to extend the contract of Mustafa Shobeir, the first team's goalkeeper, in light of the enticing foreign offers he has recently received, to ensure his continued presence with the team.

ON Sport FM radio mentioned that Al Ahly's management granted Shobeir an exception to start negotiations, despite a decision not to negotiate with any player whose contract has not expired, due to him being the future goalkeeper for the club and the Egyptian national team.

The club intends to offer a financial package of 25 million pounds per season, along with an advertising campaign worth 5 million, in exchange for a renewal for 4 seasons, with the salary increasing by one million pounds each season, to ensure Shobeir's continuation until the summer of 2027.

The Danish coach Jes Thorup implements a rotation policy between Al Ahly's goalkeepers, Mohamed El-Shenawy and Mostafa Shobeir, in the Egyptian League and the African Champions League, following the latter's satisfactory performance for the technical staff and fans.
