Police Achieves a Thrilling Last-Minute Victory Against Diyala in the League

The Police Club achieved a thrilling and last-minute victory against Diyala in a match held at the Cage Stadium as part of the nineteenth round of the Iraq Stars League. The match witnessed a remarkable crowd presence from the Green Harp supporters, who added an enthusiastic atmosphere to the encounter.




The match started quickly, with the first opportunity for the Police coming in the 13th minute through Mahmoud Al-Mawas, who scored a crucial goal, but the referee disallowed it for offside, keeping the excitement alive from the start of the match.




In the 40th minute, Sharif Abdul-Kadhim managed to open the scoring for the Police, giving his team the lead before the end of the first half, which concluded with a 1-0 score, providing the team with a solid foundation to build upon in the second half.




With the start of the second half, Diyala succeeded in equalizing the score in the 52nd minute through Ayman Mahmoud, leveling the match and making it more competitive and exciting, amidst continuous attempts from both teams to score the second goal.




The play did not settle until the final moments, when Salem Ahmed added the second goal for the Police in the 96th minute of injury time, granting his team a thrilling last-minute victory in an exciting match until the very last breath.




With this victory, the Police raised their tally to 38 points in second place, behind the leading Air Force team, while Diyala's tally froze at 27 points in eleventh place, indicating the difficulty of their competition for advanced positions in the league.
