Espérance Sportive de Tunis secured a valuable victory against Stade Tunisien with a 1-0 win in the match that brought them together in the 20th round of the Tunisian league.

Hossam Taqa scored the only goal of the match in the 21st minute, giving his team an early advantage that they maintained until the final whistle. Esperance dominated the proceedings, especially during the first half, which helped them secure the three points.

With this result, Esperance rose to the top of the standings with 46 points, ahead of Club Africain in second place with 45 points, while Stade Tunisien remained in third place with 41 points.

Esperance is preparing for a strong match against Egypt's Al Ahly in the quarter-finals of the African Champions League. The club had announced before the match that it had officially signed French coach Patrice Beaumelle until June 2027.
