Imprisonment of an Algerian Fan and 18 Senegalese Fans Due to African Final Riots
The Rabat court issued effective prison sentences against an Algerian fan and 18 Senegalese fans, ranging from 3 to 12 months, due to their involvement in the riots and violence that occurred during the final of the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025".
The sentences varied according to the charges against the defendants, which included using violence against security forces, damaging sports equipment, storming the field, and throwing projectiles.
The public prosecutor at the Rabat primary court, represented by the deputy public prosecutor, requested the conviction of the Senegalese fans along with the Algerian fan, following the events that accompanied the African Cup of Nations final.
On the other hand, the defense authority announced its intention to appeal the verdicts issued against the defendants.
