Lookman Opens His European Journey with Atletico
The Nigerian Ademola Lookman scored a goal in his debut for Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, against Club Brugge in the first leg of the playoff.
To become the first player to score a goal for the club in his debut match in the tournament since Héctor Herrera against the Italian team Juventus in September 2019.
Lukman is also the first player to score in his debut as a starter for Atletico Madrid in the Champions League since Argentine Angel Correa, who achieved this against Benfica in September 2015.
Atletico Madrid hopes that Lookman will continue to provide offensive contributions during their European campaign this season, especially with the need for decisive attacking solutions in major fixtures.
