Sweden's Coach Hints at Possible Return of Isak and Kulusevski in Upcoming Break
Sunday 15-02-2026
Sweden's national team coach Graham Potter hinted at the possibility of a return for the duo Alexander Isak and Dejan Kulusevski during the international break in March, despite their suffering from severe injuries in recent months.

Potter confirmed that he spoke personally with the players, and that the Liverpool striker and Tottenham winger are working hard on rehabilitation programs with their clubs and seem optimistic about their return.

The English coach explained that Isak's injury was severe, as he suffered a leg fracture and has been absent since December, while Kulusevski is out due to a long-term knee injury that has kept him off the field since last month. However, there is a "chance" for their participation if the recovery process goes well.

Potter added that returning in March would be difficult due to the nature of the significant injuries, but he did not rule out their participation in the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches, as the Swedish team seeks to benefit from its stars in crucial encounters against Ukraine, then Poland or Albania.

The potential return of Isak and Kulusevski is considered a strong boost for Sweden, especially as the team relies heavily on them in the attacking line and playmaking during the critical upcoming matches in the European playoff qualifying for the World Cup.
