Khedira Agrees to Play with the Tunisian National Team
Wednesday 11-02-2026
The coach of the Tunisian national team, Sabri Lamouchi, confirmed that he will ensure to call up every player who expresses a desire to represent Tunisia and is capable of adding value to the team, in a clear indication of the possibility of inviting Rani Khedira, the Union Berlin midfielder and brother of former German star Sami Khedira.

Rani had previously refused to play for Tunisia about 9 years ago, stating: "I was born and raised in Germany, my mentality is German. I never thought about playing for Tunisia." However, the development of his football career and his professional experience reopened the door for him to join the Carthage Eagles, as he was not called up to the German national team.

Lamouchi's statements come after news circulated about the possibility of Rani joining the Tunisian national team, reflecting the coaching staff's eagerness to attract experienced and outstanding players to strengthen Tunisia's midfield ahead of upcoming commitments.

If Rani's inclusion is confirmed, it will be an addition to the Tunisian national team, which has suffered from a lack of players capable of delivering something special on the field.
