Youth Club Decides to Dismiss Coach Emmanuel Al-Ghwasil
Wednesday 11-02-2026
The management of the Saudi Al-Shabab Club decided to dismiss the Spanish coach, Imanol Alguacil, from his position as head coach of the first team, following a comprehensive evaluation of the team's performance and the results recorded in the recent period.

According to the Saudi newspaper "Okaz," the club's management has already started preparing the file for a replacement coach, with the intention of finalizing the identity of the new name and signing him within the next two days. This comes amid a clear desire to restore technical balance and improve results before the crucial stages of the season.

The team experienced noticeable fluctuations in its technical performance during this period, along with difficulties in maintaining consistent results. This led to the youth team falling behind in the competition for top positions and increased the pressure on the coaching staff.

In the upcoming phase, the management of Al-Shabab aims to hire a coach with more experience in handling the pressures of the Saudi league, who is capable of utilizing the available resources within the team, in addition to building a technical project that aligns with the club's aspirations both locally and continentally.

Al-Ghwasil took over coaching Al-Shabab in 2025, leading the team in 23 matches across various competitions, during which he secured 6 victories, 7 draws, and 10 losses. These figures did not meet the expectations of the management and fans.

It is noted that Al-Gausil's current contract with Al-Shabab Club ends in the summer of 2027.
