Compliance Committee Opens File on Jesus' Absence from Press Conferences
The Portuguese Jorge Jesus, head coach of Al-Nassr, has come under scrutiny from the Compliance Committee in the Saudi Pro League after missing the press conferences for his team's last two matches against Al-Riyadh and Al-Ittihad.
The Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" reported that the Compliance Committee is awaiting the completion of four official reports, which include reports from the media coordinator, the stadium manager, the security coordinator, and the representative of the Ministry of Sports, regarding the match between Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad that took place last Friday as part of the 21st round of the league.
The newspaper pointed out that Jesus was absent from the introductory press conference as well as the conference following the match against Al-Ittihad, which constitutes a violation of the competition regulations and falls under the jurisdiction of the Compliance Committee.
"Al-Riyadiyah" confirmed that the Compliance Committee's decisions are not announced to the media, are final and not subject to appeal, and its work is not subject to interference from the president of the Professional League Association or any other entity.
The newspaper added that the compliance list includes 145 violations with varying penalties, starting with a warning and potentially reaching a fine of half a million riyals. These violations include being late to the stadium, submitting the team list, entering the field, players not attending the mixed media zone, the coach's absence from the press conference, and not wearing identification badges.
