A Clear Legal Decision Confuses the Union Due to Al-Hamdan's Situation
Saturday 07-02-2026
The legal expert Ahmed Al-Amir revealed the legal outcome of the protest filed by Al-Ittihad Club, objecting to Abdullah Al-Hamdan's participation with Al-Nassr in the Clasico match during the 21st round of the Saudi Roshan League.

Al-Hamdan participated as a substitute in the final minutes of the match, which ended with Al-Nassr winning 2-0. The goals were scored by Senegalese Sadio Mane and Brazilian Angelo Gabriel in the 84th and 96th minutes.

Following the end of the match, Al-Ittihad Club took action by submitting an official protest, questioning the legitimacy of Hamdan's participation after his transfer to Al-Nassr during the last winter transfer window.

Al-Nassr announced the signing of Al-Hamdan on the last day of the winter transfer window, after the player unilaterally terminated his contract with Al-Hilal, just a few days before the contract was officially set to end.

Ahmed Al-Amir explained via his account on the "X" platform that Al-Hamdan terminated his contract outside the protected period, which legally allows for the adjustment of the start date of his new contract with Al-Nassr.

He confirmed that amending the contract date enabled Al-Nassr to register the player before the closure of the winter registration period, emphasizing that this step is fully compliant with the approved regulations.

The prince emphasized that Al-Hamdan's registration in the league's electronic system was completed within the legal timeframe, which makes his participation legally valid, suggesting that the union's protest on the matter is likely to be rejected.
