Officially: Ronaldo Absent and En-Nesyri Present for the Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr Clasico
Thursday 05-02-2026
Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição, the manager of Al-Ittihad Club, announced his team's final squad in preparation for facing Al-Nassr in the Saudi Roshn League classic, scheduled to take place on Friday evening at Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh.

Al-Ittihad will be a formidable guest against Al-Nassr in the 21st round of the Saudi Professional League, in a match that is widely anticipated by fans and the media.

The Union's roster featured the presence of Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri, the new winter signing, alongside Nigerian George Elinikina, in a clear indication of the coach's reliance on his new attacking elements.

The list included Raikovic, Al-Absi, and Al-Shanqeeti as goalkeepers, while the defense line comprised Danilo Pereira, Kadash, Mitai, Barnawi, Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti, and Ahmed Al-Julaidan.

In the midfield were Fabinho, Houssem Aouar, Mohammed Falatah, Hamed Al-Ghamdi, Awad Al-Nashri, and Mahamadou Doumbia, while the attack was led by Diaby, En-Nesyri, Elinikina, Al-Bishi, and Talal Haji.

On the other hand, the Portuguese Jorge Jesus surprised everyone by excluding Cristiano Ronaldo from Al-Nassr's squad for the match against Al-Ittihad, without announcing an official reason for his absence from the Clasico.

Ronaldo participated in Al-Nassr's recent training sessions and confirmed his readiness, before the coaching staff's decisions left him out of the lineup for the second consecutive match.

Press reports indicate that Ronaldo's absence is linked to his frustration with the club's moves in the winter transfer market, especially when compared to Al-Hilal's reinforcements.

Al-Nassr holds the second position in the Roshan League standings with 46 points, just one point behind the leading Al-Hilal, while Al-Ittihad is in sixth place with 34 points ahead of the anticipated classic match.
