The Truth About Ronaldo's Request to Leave the Saudi League at the End of the Season
Tuesday 03-02-2026
Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain and forward of Al-Nassr, is considering the option of leaving the Saudi Pro League at the end of the current season, amid increasing dissatisfaction with the overall competitive landscape.

Ronaldo is seriously considering activating the release clause in his contract with Al-Nassr, which is valued at 50 million euros, due to his feeling of institutional bias in favor of Al-Hilal.

According to Café Solicol via "Sky Sports," the Portuguese star sees a clear contrast between two clubs owned by the same owner, one of which strengthens its ranks with prominent stars like Karim Benzema.

On the other hand, the report indicated that Al-Nassr made limited deals, most notably signing Haider Abdulkarim, which increased Ronaldo's dissatisfaction regarding competitive balance.

Officials from the Public Investment Fund informed the player that Al-Hilal's deals were directly supported by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, and that any additional support for Al-Nassr would require external contributions.

Fund officials believe that Al-Nassr received significant financial support amounting to around 100 million pounds during the past summer, considering it sufficient to strengthen the team.

The fund urged Ronaldo to end the unofficial strike and return to participation, emphasizing that the current absence and escalation do not reflect a positive image of the sports project.
