Barcelona Controls Rashford's Future
Sunday 01-02-2026
Barcelona has decided its stance on the future of English winger Marcus Rashford, amidst increasing reports of Manchester United's desire to reclaim the player after the end of his loan period.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', Barcelona's management is not worried about Rashford's future, having secured an absolute priority in signing him during negotiations with Manchester United, through a clear purchase option clause valued at 30 million euros.

The newspaper confirmed that this clause gives the Catalan club complete advantage over any desire from Manchester United to reclaim the player, as activating the purchase option and paying the full amount completely resolves the matter, without the English club having any right to object, except in the case of entering new negotiations regarding the value.

English reports indicated that Rashford's impressive performance during his loan period at Barcelona has reopened the discussion about his future in England, especially after Michael Carrick was appointed as the interim manager of Manchester United. Some British newspapers believe that the new manager wishes to reclaim the player and include him in his project, despite his contractual commitment extending only until June 30.

On the other hand, the Spanish newspaper clarified that Rashford is completely detached from these speculations, as he feels comfortable and happy in Barcelona's dressing room, despite not playing regularly.

The player's statistics highlight his impact, having scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 31 matches across all competitions, totaling 1,792 minutes of play. He also tops Barcelona's scoring list in the UEFA Champions League for the 2025/2026 season alongside Fermín López, with five goals each.
