The English club Aston Villa announced today the signing of a loan agreement with Juventus to include the Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz until the end of the current season, in a deal that includes an option to purchase next summer. 

Luiz (27 years old) ended his previous loan with Nottingham Forest and returned to Villa, the club he represented from 2019 to 2024 before moving to Juventus last summer. 

The deal came in the context of the team's need to strengthen the midfield after several players sustained injuries, and Luiz expressed his readiness to return to a club where he feels very comfortable after his prominent role in the past. 

Luiz's loan includes an option to purchase the player permanently in the summer, giving Villa the opportunity to retain him long-term if he succeeds in delivering a strong performance with the team until the end of the season.
