The journey of PAOK Thessaloniki supporters to the French city of Lyon witnessed a tragic humanitarian disaster, as seven fans lost their lives in a severe car accident while on their way to attend their team's Europa League match against Olympique Lyon.

The accident occurred on one of the highways when the minibus carrying the fans collided with several trucks, resulting in the death of seven people on the spot, in addition to seriously injuring others, who had to be urgently transported to nearby hospitals.

According to preliminary data released by local authorities, the accident occurred on a road section known for its danger, and an official investigation has been launched to determine the exact causes, including driving conditions and the state of the road at the time of the collision.

The incident caused deep sorrow within the sports community, as PAOK, Olympique Lyonnais, and several football entities expressed their sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
