The German club Bayer Leverkusen announced today that their Moroccan international player, Elias Bensghir, has sustained an injury to his left ankle, which will keep him off the field for several weeks, according to an official statement from the club.

Leverkusen clarified that Bensghir is suffering from an injury to the ligaments of his left ankle, which he sustained before the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, where the Moroccan team lost to Senegal with a score of 1-0 after going into extra time.

The German club indicated that the medical staff is closely monitoring the player's health condition, as he will undergo a special treatment and rehabilitation program in the coming period, with the aim of preparing him to return to competition as soon as he fully completes the recovery phase.

It is noted that Elias Ben Seghir had moved to Bayer Leverkusen from Monaco during the last summer transfer window, but his appearances with the German team have remained limited since joining, due to successive injuries.
