Canadian left-back Alphonso Davies has returned to Bayern Munich's starting lineup in the Bundesliga match against Augsburg today, Saturday, for the first time since suffering a severe ACL injury last March.

Davies had been out of action for more than eight months, specifically 261 days, following his injury during Canada's match against the United States.

The player began his return by gradually participating as a substitute in recent matches before receiving the green light to start in today's match at Allianz Arena.

Davies' return comes at a time when the Bavarian team continues its absolute dominance at the top of the Bundesliga standings. After the eighteenth round, Bayern Munich holds the first place with 50 points, leading by a full 11 points over second-placed Borussia Dortmund, and maintaining an unbeaten record so far (16 wins and 2 draws).
