The Giza Criminal Court accepted the appeal of Ramadan Sobhi, the Pyramids player, leading to the annulment of his one-year prison sentence in the case of forgery of official documents. The court decided to suspend the execution of the sentence for three years.

The 30th Circuit of the Giza Criminal Court had previously issued verdicts in the case, sentencing Ramadan Sobhi and the second defendant, who took the exam on his behalf, to one year of hard labor imprisonment, acquitting the third defendant, while the fourth fugitive defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Court of Appeal upheld the judgment against the player, with a decision to suspend its execution.

The events of the case date back to last May when the relevant authorities caught a person taking an exam on behalf of Ramadan Sobhi at a tourism and hotel institute in the Abu Nomros area. During the investigations, the accused admitted to receiving a financial reward for entering the exam room and taking the exam on behalf of the player.
