Friday 23-01-2026
Ahly coach Jes Torup confirmed that his team's victory over Young Africans today in the African Champions League gives the Reds confidence, and he expressed his satisfaction with the win in the match.

Al-Ahly defeated Young Africans 2-0 this Friday evening in a match within the third round of the group stage in the CAF Champions League.

In the press conference following the match, Torop said: "We played the game after a long period due to the absence of international players, which lasted for 7 weeks. After the players returned and trained for one and a half sessions, I am happy with the victory we achieved today as well as the performance we delivered."

He added, "We could have performed better than that, but we need some time to regain the momentum and rhythm we had before the break."

He continued: "Victories always give the team confidence, which is an important element in football, and it makes it easier for us to take better steps forward to excel in performance in the upcoming stage."
