Arsenal Considers Signing Julian Alvarez
Friday 23-01-2026
The English club Arsenal is considering the possibility of moving to sign the Argentine striker Julian Alvarez during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to what ESPN has revealed, citing informed sources, as part of the club's efforts to strengthen its attacking line before the new season.

The report clarified that the 'Gunners' management has not yet made an official offer, but they have started gathering information about the terms of the deal and the possibility of completing it, benefiting from the strong relationship that the new Arsenal sporting director, Andrea Berta, has with Atletico Madrid, where he worked for many years before moving to London.

The sources added that Alvarez was among the names Arsenal monitored previously before signing the Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres, but the latter's shaky start reopened the file for signing a high-caliber striker, especially in light of the remarkable performance the Argentine international is delivering with Atletico Madrid this season.

The report pointed out that the potential deal will not be easy, given Atletico Madrid's insistence on retaining their player and his high market value, along with the interest of other major European clubs in signing Alvarez, particularly Barcelona.
