Manchester United Prepares a Huge Sum to Sign Maguire's Replacement
Saturday 17-01-2026
Fichajes revealed that Manchester United has started preparing to restructure their defensive line by allocating an amount reaching £70 million to sign a new defender, amid the English defender Harry Maguire's imminent departure from the team.

According to the same source, Maguire's contract is nearing its end, making his exit likely during the current winter transfer window or the upcoming summer transfer period, which prompted the club's management to act early to secure a suitable replacement.

The report indicated that Manchester United has identified Brazilian defender Morelo, a Nottingham Forest player, as the first choice to compensate for Maguire, due to his strong performances in the Premier League and his ability to combine physical strength, technical skill, and build play from the back.

The report clarified that Nottingham Forest will not let Morelo go except for a large financial offer, which explains Manchester United's readiness to present a huge deal to finalize the signing, in a move aimed at strengthening the backline and building a more stable defense in the coming seasons.
