On Thursday evening, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation announced its official decision regarding Al-Nassr goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi, following his red card in the Riyadh Derby match against Al-Hilal.

The committee's decision to suspend Al-Aqidi for two matches came after he received a direct red card due to inappropriate behavior towards the Portuguese player Ruben Neves of Al-Hilal, according to the match referee's report.

The Disciplinary Committee clarified that Al-Aqidi violated Article (48-1-2) of the Disciplinary and Ethical Regulations, resulting in the imposition of a suspension penalty, including the automatic suspension due to the direct red card.

The committee also decided to fine Al-Nassr's goalkeeper 20,000 riyals, to be paid to the account of the Saudi Football Federation, confirming that the decision is final and not subject to appeal in accordance with Article (144) of the regulations.

In a related context, the Disciplinary Committee issued another decision to suspend Al-Najma Club player Samer Ahmed Faqih for two matches, following his direct red card in his team's match against Al-Rayyan.

The committee has fined the Al-Najma player 5,000 riyals, which will be deposited into the account of the Saudi Football Federation.

These decisions come as part of the Disciplinary Committee's efforts to crack down on unsportsmanlike behavior, in order to maintain discipline and uphold the integrity of local competitions.
