A news report revealed unexpected developments regarding the future of Brazilian goalkeeper Bento Matheus, who plays for Al-Nassr, as his time with the club approaches its end during the current winter transfer window.

Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, the manager of Al-Nassr, held a meeting with Pinto on Sunday evening in an attempt to convince him to stay until the match against Al-Hilal in the fifteenth round of the Roshn Saudi League.

According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah, Pinto expressed his concern about the possibility of getting injured before completing his transfer abroad, which led him to reconsider the idea of continuing until the anticipated derby match.

During the meeting, the Brazilian goalkeeper emphasized his readiness to continue with Al-Nassr, on the condition that he be relied upon as the primary choice for the remainder of the season instead of Nawaf Al-Aqidi.

The discussion ended with both parties agreeing to officially terminate the relationship after the training session, paving the way for Pinto Mateus's departure and his transfer to the Italian club Genoa in the coming days.

After finalizing the matter, Jesus decided to include Mubarak Bouainine in the team's camp, making him a backup option alongside Nawaf Al-Aqidi for the upcoming match against Al-Hilal.

Al-Nassr occupies second place in the Saudi Roshn League standings with 31 points, behind the leader Al-Hilal by four points, following their recent loss to Al-Qadsiah, while Al-Hilal secured a 3-0 victory over Al-Hazem.
