Jesus Temporarily Halts Pinto's Departure
Sunday 11-01-2026
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, head of Al-Nassr Club, objected to the departure of Brazilian goalkeeper Pinto Matheus before the upcoming match against Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

Al Hilal will host their rivals Al Nassr at the "Kingdom Arena" on Monday evening, as part of the fifteenth round of the competition, in a derby eagerly anticipated by the sports community.

According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah, Jesus demanded keeping Pinto with the team until the end of the match against Al-Hilal, emphasizing the importance of his presence at this critical time.

The Al-Nassr coach informed the management that the loan procedures for the goalkeeper to the Italian club Genoa would not be completed until after the derby, with the final steps to be completed within the following three days.

The sources explained that Pinto agreed to Genoa's offer, which includes a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy, despite receiving a higher financial offer from the English club West Ham.

Al-Nassr had given the green light for the goalkeeper's departure, as the coaching staff relied primarily on Nawaf Al-Aqidi in the Saudi League this season.

It is worth mentioning that Pinto, 26 years old, joined Al-Nassr in the summer of 2023 coming from Athletico Paranaense on a contract lasting until June 2028, and has participated in 10 matches this season.
