French defender Dayot Upamecano has made his final decision regarding his future, putting an end to the recent speculation about a possible transfer to Real Madrid.

The website "Fichajes" reported that Upamecano has decided to stay with Bayern Munich after reaching an agreement to renew his contract until 2031, thereby ruling out the option of wearing the Royal Club's jersey for the time being.

The report explained that the player waited until January to learn Real Madrid's position, but the club's response was clear: they were not willing to enter into a high-value contract for a defender, which became the main point of disagreement between the two parties.

The same source indicated that the agreement with Bayern Munich had been in place for months, before Upamecano activated the renewal option, securing his continued stay at Allianz Arena with a strong contract by European football standards.

Despite the renewal, the website reported that Upamecano has not completely closed the door on Real Madrid, as his new contract includes a release clause of 65 million euros, which will not come into effect before the summer of 2027.

With this decision, Bayern Munich strengthens its defense by retaining one of its key pillars, while Real Madrid continues to explore other options to reinforce their backline, in line with their financial policy.
