Al Hilal Withdraws from Al Qadsiah Goalkeeper Deal
Wednesday 07-01-2026
Al Hilal Club's management has moved to finalize negotiations to sign Ahmed Al-Kassar, the goalkeeper of Al Qadsiah, during the current winter transfer window.

Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper confirmed that negotiations between Al-Hilal and Al-Qadsiah have reached a dead end, prompting the Blue management to abandon the deal and look for other alternatives.

Al Hilal officials are working on signing a local goalkeeper in response to the wishes of Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, who does not prefer to keep the Frenchman Mathieu Baudry due to his recent decline in performance.

Previous reports indicated that Al-Qadsia's management is keen to retain Ahmed Al-Kassar's services and rejects the idea of letting him go during this January, due to the team's heavy reliance on him.

Al Hilal's withdrawal from the deal came at a time when the team continues to achieve positive results, having recently won 2-0 against Damac in the thirteenth round of the league.

Al Hilal tops the Saudi Roshn League standings with 32 points, leading by just one point ahead of Al Nassr, who are in second place.
