The father of Brazilian star Neymar revealed that his son seriously considered retiring from football during the difficult period he experienced due to repeated injuries while playing for Santos.

Neymar's father explained that the player expressed to him a few months ago the mental and physical exhaustion he was going through, saying: "Dad, I can't do this anymore, I need surgery, but I don't even know if it's worth it... I'm tired," referring to the extent of the suffering he was enduring.

Despite the pain and doubts about his future, Neymar decided to continue playing and not give up, preferring to help his team during a critical phase of the season.

According to his father, Neymar's determination to continue despite the injury directly contributed to Santos avoiding relegation, as well as leading the team to qualify for the Copa Americana, reflecting the player's commitment and fighting spirit despite the difficult circumstances.
