Slut: We Lost Many Points, and It Is Natural to Feel Frustrated
Arne Slut, Liverpool's coach, spoke after his team drew 2-2 with Fulham in the twentieth round of the English Premier League at Craven Cottage, expressing his disappointment with the result despite the players' good performance.
Slut said: "In an away match, scoring two goals might be enough to win, but we conceded a great goal in the dying moments. We brought on Joe Gomez, but they did not take advantage of the opportunity, and we missed a chance to achieve a better result."
He added: "We had chances in the first half, as well as with Cody Gakpo who scored, and we played in control of the match's course, but scoring only two goals was not enough. The players are giving their best effort."
He continued: "Many teams do not create chances in every match, and at least we created more chances compared to last week, when we led 2-1 in added time and conceded the equalizer 2-2. I felt very disappointed. It was a great shot in the last seconds, and this is not the first time we have conceded a goal in the dying moments this season."
He went on: "We have lost many points, and it is natural to feel frustrated. I liked the team's performance more in the second half than the first. We controlled the match and created many chances, with two disallowed goals and a ball that hit the crossbar. This is what we hope for despite the absence of many attacking players."
