Stalled Transfer of Ibrahim Al-Qadiri to Espérance Tunis
Sunday 11-01-2026
Media reports have revealed that the transfer deal of the Dutch winger of Moroccan descent, Ibrahim Al-Qadiri, to the Tunisian club Espérance Sportive de Tunis has stalled during the current winter transfer window, due to his club De Graafschap in the Netherlands refusing to release him.

Sources reported that the Espérance management was seeking to strengthen the team by acquiring a player for the defensive midfield position and a left winger, with the name of Al-Qadiri emerging as one of the main targets to enhance the team's roster.

The Dutch newspaper "De Gelderlander" confirmed that Espérance submitted an official inquiry to check the player's status, while the website "AD.nl" described Al-Qadiri as a talented player capable of making a valuable contribution, possessing the technical qualities that make him a suitable option for the Tunisian team.

Meanwhile, the website “Soccernews.nl” pointed out that selling Al-Qaediri could represent a significant financial opportunity for De Graafschap, while “footballtransfers.com” emphasized the need for the Dutch club to proceed with caution to avoid losing one of its key players.

According to the same reports, the negotiations stalled due to De Graafschap's insistence on keeping the player, especially since his contract is valid until June 30, 2026, which gives the Dutch club a clear advantage in the negotiations.

It is worth mentioning that Ibrahim Al-Qadiri, born on January 23, 2002, in Amsterdam, holds Moroccan nationality and has previously represented the Moroccan under-23 national team. He primarily plays as a left winger but is also capable of playing on the right side. Since joining his current team in the summer of 2024 from Volendam, he has been wearing the number 11 jersey.

This season, Al-Qadiri has played 19 matches across various competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists, with a total playing time exceeding 1,550 minutes. His current market value is estimated at around 450,000 euros, down from a peak of 1.2 million euros at the end of 2021.

If the Dutch club continues to insist on retaining his services, Al-Qadiri will be able to sign a preliminary contract with Esperance starting from January, with the condition that he joins the team during the upcoming summer transfer window, unless there are new developments in the negotiation process.
