Al-Shorta team succeeded in achieving an important and difficult victory against their guest Zakho with a score of one goal to nil, in the match that brought the two teams together within the competitions of the Iraqi Stars League, in a game characterized by excitement and competitiveness until the final whistle.

The match witnessed a good technical level from both teams, as Zakho club appeared in a distinguished manner and was the better side in many periods of the match, in terms of possession and creating opportunities, while Al-Shorta relied on defensive organization and trying to exploit the few chances that came their way.

The only goal of the match came early, after player Mohammed Dawood managed to score the leading goal for Al-Shorta in the ninth minute from the start of the match, giving his team a moral advantage that helped them manage the match cautiously during the remaining minutes.

After the goal, Zakho intensified their attacking attempts searching for an equalizer, and succeeded in imposing clear pressure on Al-Shorta’s defense, but the defensive cohesion and brilliance of the back line prevented the ball from reaching the net, ending the match with Al-Shorta winning by a clean sheet.

With this victory, Al-Shorta returned to the winning path after four consecutive losses, raising their total to 18 points to occupy third place in the standings, while Zakho’s total remained at 15 points in ninth place.
