Regragui: We Respect Our Opponent and Knockout Stages Allow No Mistakes
Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, emphasized that the match against Tanzania in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations leaves no room for any mistakes.
Morocco will face Tanzania tomorrow evening, Sunday, in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Al-Rikrakki said in the press conference before the match: "We are facing a tough challenge, but we know our opponent well since we have faced them several times in recent years. We have no choice but to win if we want to continue on this journey, and knockout stages do not allow for any mistakes."
He added: "We respect our opponent, and we approach the match with humility and focus. We understand that Tanzania will try to make the game difficult for us, as is often the case in such encounters."
He also said: "Having capable substitutes is one of our strengths, and this helps us make timely changes to maintain our rhythm. Many of the teams we have faced recently struggle physically against us, especially in the second half, and we have scored many goals after the break. This explains the tension that sometimes arises if the first half ends in a draw."
Rkraki praised Ayoub El Kaabi, the national team player, after he scored three goals in the group stage.
He said: "Al-Kaabi is a model of perseverance despite the difficulties he has faced. I have been aware of his potential since he was with Racing Casablanca, and he has worked quietly and made good decisions in his career, eventually becoming a striker for the national team."
