Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus studies left-back replacement for Al-Ahli clash
Thursday 01-01-2026
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, head of Al-Nassr Saudi Club, is carefully considering his options to choose the most suitable replacement for the left-back position in the upcoming match against Al-Ahli Jeddah in the Roshn League.

Jesus is weighing between Ayman Yahya and Nawaf Boushal to compensate for Saad Al-Nasser's absence, with the coach leaning towards keeping the same lineup as the Al-Ittifaq match, making only a single change in the defensive line.

Al-Nassr's coach is set to approach the Clasico with his usual style, maintaining the key players in an effort to continue positive results and retain the top position in the Saudi Professional League.

Jesus excluded the Brazilian goalkeeper Pinto Matheus from Al-Ahly's match squad for technical reasons and preferred to reinstate Raghed Al-Najjar to the list of players as a substitute for Nawaf Al-Aqidi.

Al-Nassr's absences continue in the upcoming match, with French player Mohamed Simakan and Senegalese Sadio Mane both missing, leaving the eighth foreign player slot vacant ahead of the encounter.

The match between Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr will be held at the Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah on Friday evening, as part of the twelfth round of the Roshn Saudi League.

Al-Nassr Club tops the Saudi League standings with 31 points, while Al-Ahli occupies fourth place with 22 points, in a match that holds great significance for both sides.
