The refereeing committee of the African Football Confederation assigned the task of officiating the intense match between the Ivory Coast and Cameroon national teams, in the second round of the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, to Algerian referee Mustapha Ghorbal.

The Algerian Football Federation announced in an official statement released today, Saturday, that Gharbal, who was appointed as the fourth official for the Senegal vs. Congo match taking place today, will serve as the main referee for the anticipated match between the defending champions Ivory Coast and Cameroon, after missing out on officiating the opening round matches.

The match is scheduled to take place tomorrow evening, Sunday, at Marrakech Stadium, starting at 10 PM, in one of the most prominent encounters of the second round of the group stage.

Both teams enter the match with a shared ambition to secure qualification early, having each earned three points in the first round. Ivory Coast narrowly defeated Mozambique 1-0, while Cameroon achieved the same result against Gabon.
