Ali Alwan, star of the Jordanian national team and Al-Karmah club, arrived in Iraq to join his team's training sessions in preparation for the resumption of Al-Gharbia Hawks' matches in the Iraqi Stars League, after they were halted due to the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar.

Alwan won the top scorer award at the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar, having scored 6 goals, outscoring his competitor, Moroccan player Karim Barkawi, by three goals. His outstanding performances sparked much debate about the possibility of his transfer to another club.

Special sources inside Al-Karmah club stated: "Forward Ali Alwan has rejoined his teammates and will undergo his first training session with the team today, Wednesday, since the end of his participation in the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar. The team's Spanish coach Antonio Cazorla relies on him in the attack alongside Ayman Hussein."

They added: "Al-Karmah club management is keen on keeping the player and does not wish to sell or release him, especially since the club's goal is to compete for the Iraqi league title. The Jordanian star is one of the pillars of the project and has missed only one match since the start of the current season. Therefore, the management's desire to retain the player for a long period is clear and explicit."

They explained: "Regarding offers submitted for the Jordanian star, Al-Karmah club has not received any official offer to acquire the player's services since the launch of the Arab Cup until today. The player also confirmed to his teammates that he is focused on his position with Al-Karmah and does not consider transferring during the winter transfer window, especially as ambitions are very high to win a local title this season."

Yesterday, Al-Karmah team held its training sessions with the presence of all players except Alwan, who was granted an extra day off by the coach to recover from travel fatigue and to be in the best condition and readiness starting from tomorrow's training, in preparation for the upcoming match against Zakho next Saturday.
