Monday 22-12-2025
The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that the Spanish League Association announced the distribution of television broadcasting rights for the 2024/2025 season, which constitute a primary source of financial revenue for the clubs, and have seen a slight decrease compared to the previous season.

The total amounts allocated for distribution reached 1.432 billion euros, compared to 1.498 billion euros in the 2023/2024 season, among first and second division clubs, amid increasing competition from major European leagues such as the English Premier League, the Bundesliga, and Serie A.

Real Madrid and Barcelona topped the list of beneficiaries from these revenues, with the royal club surpassing Barcelona despite the close figures. Real Madrid's income decreased from 159.55 million to 157.52 million euros, while Barcelona's income dropped from 162.49 to 156.45 million euros.

The combined revenue of first division clubs declined from 1.351 billion euros in the 2023/2024 season to 1.292 billion euros in the 2024/2025 season. Atlético Madrid ranks third in terms of revenue, recording a decrease from 117.89 million to 108.17 million euros.

Some teams were exempted from this decline thanks to their sporting achievements, including Girona with 55.64 million euros, Espanyol with 43.42 million euros, Valladolid with 41.53 million euros, and Leganés with 39.93 million euros.

As for the other teams, the revenues were as follows: Athletic Bilbao 67.50 million, Real Sociedad 67.80, Real Betis 64.67, Sevilla 63.95, Villarreal 57.81, Valencia 52.53, Getafe 45.46, Celta Vigo 45.77, Osasuna 48.09, Mallorca 43.89, Alavés 43.46, Rayo Vallecano 42.70, and Las Palmas 40.63 million euros.

The Spanish League Association allocated 173.30 million euros for the distribution of broadcasting rights to second division clubs, with newly relegated clubs receiving special support. Cádiz received 22.62 million euros (including 13.80 million euros in compensation), Almería 18.80 million euros (10.47 million euros in compensation), and Granada 17.16 million euros (9 million euros in compensation). Additionally, 6.87 million euros were allocated to the Spanish Players' Union fund, and 290,000 euros to the Futbolistas ON association.
