Monday 22-12-2025
Al-Ittihad Club of Saudi Arabia is making strategic moves to strengthen its squad, having identified Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares of Italian club Lazio as one of its targets for the upcoming winter transfer window.

According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the club is aiming to strengthen the left flank with a high-profile signing, targeting the acquisition of Nuno Tavares to enhance the team's technical and offensive capabilities.

The reports have not yet revealed financial details or the negotiation process, but the club's interest in the player reflects its confidence in his great potential, speed, and ability to make a difference.

Nuno Tavares is 25 years old and has played 10 matches for Lazio this season, without scoring any goals, contributing just one assist.

The Portuguese full-back had joined Lazio for 5 million euros after the end of his loan period from the English club Arsenal.

Data from the Transfermarkt website indicates that Nuno Tavares's market value is estimated at around 20 million euros, reflecting the magnitude of the challenge facing Al-Ittihad in completing the deal.

Al-Ittihad Club continues its continental preparations as it faces the Uzbek team Nasaf next Tuesday, in the sixth round of the AFC Champions League Elite competition.
