Slut: There Is No Boring Match in the Premier League, and There Is Much I Liked About Our Performance
Liverpool coach Arne Slut appeared in press statements after the 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the seventeenth round of the English Premier League, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The coach said in his speech: "In football, you always remember the last minutes, and unfortunately, they were the worst period of our performance throughout the entire match."
He added: "If I manage to calm down a bit and erase those minutes from my memory, I think there is much I liked about our performance today. I have stood here many times before very satisfied with the performance, but we left without securing the three points. This time, I liked the performance in a large part of the match, and we succeeded in taking all the points."
Regarding the tense ending of the match, he explained: "We did not keep possession of the ball when we had it. We cleared it unnecessarily, which gave them some free kicks, throw-ins, and corners. The match became chaotic and fast-paced."
He continued: "Overall, we controlled the match well. Six matches unbeaten, four wins and two draws. We are definitely not perfect yet, but our number 9 strikers scored today, and this is again a positive point to build on."
He concluded his speech saying: "In the Premier League, there is never a boring match. When the opponent plays with ten men, the role of the wingers becomes very important. Jeremy (Frimpong) was the player who created the 2-0 goal with his movements."
