Mitrović and Wissam Abu Ali on Al-Ahli's Radar for Winter Transfers
Saturday 13-12-2025
Al-Ahli Saudi Club plans to strengthen its attacking line during the January 2025 winter transfer window, responding to the request of German coach Matthias Jaissle, who aims to compensate for any potential offensive shortfall.

Journalistic sources indicated that Al-Ahli's management has placed former Al-Hilal striker and current Al-Rayyan player, Serbian Aleksandar Mitrović, at the top of the list of candidates to strengthen the team's attack in the winter transfer window.

This move comes in anticipation of the possibility of English striker Ivan Toney leaving for one of the Premier League clubs, prompting the management to consider a strong replacement to ensure stability in the attack.

Al Ahly also considered the Palestinian international Wissam Abu Ali, a Columbus Crew player with previous experience at Al Ahly Egypt, as an alternative option in case the deal for the Serbian striker falls through.

The Jeddah team's management hopes to use the transfer window to strengthen the attacking lineup and ensure the team's ability to compete strongly in the Saudi League.

Al-Ahli occupies fourth place in the Saudi League standings with 19 points after nine rounds, which increases the importance of strengthening the attacking line during the current season.
