Liverpool Refuses to Hold Farewell for Mohamed Salah to Protect His Potential Transfer Value
Thursday 11-12-2025
The British newspaper 'Telegraph' confirmed that Liverpool will not hold any official farewell for the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah during the upcoming match against Brighton at Anfield in the Premier League, in a move aimed at protecting any potential transfer fees for the player in the future.

The newspaper explained that the decision comes amid growing doubts about Salah's future with the team, following his recent statements about coach Arne Slot, which sparked controversy inside and outside the club.

The report confirmed that Liverpool's management does not want to send any messages to clubs interested in signing Salah that the player might not return to the team, which makes holding a public farewell at Anfield an inappropriate step that could negatively affect the club's negotiations to obtain a transfer fee if he decides to leave.

Mohamed Salah is under contract with Liverpool until the end of 2027, after renewing his contract, amid ongoing doubts about his future with the team.

The newspaper also pointed out that several Saudi clubs have expressed their readiness to do everything possible to sign him, with expectations of official offers being submitted next month, but so far no official offers have been received from the Roshn League clubs interested in the player.
