Spanish club Girona has reached an official agreement with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to postpone the arrival of Moroccan international Azeddine Ounahi to the national team camp for several additional days. The club considered this step necessary ahead of the upcoming match in the Spanish league.

The Spanish newspaper "AS" revealed that the negotiations between the two parties took place in a positive atmosphere, allowing coach Michel Sánchez to keep Unai for the upcoming match against Real Sociedad next Friday.

Unai is considered one of the key players in Girona's system this season, having participated in nine league matches, during which he scored three goals and provided one assist, making him one of the main pillars that coach Sánchez relies on in the midfield.

The player is expected to join the Moroccan national team camp immediately after the Real Sociedad match, in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ounahi's absence from Girona will depend on the progress of the Moroccan national team in the continental tournament, potentially causing him to miss up to four matches if the "Atlas Lions" reach the final.
