Aston Villa took the lead through Matty Cash in the 36th minute after a cross from the left side reached Cash on the right side, who shot from inside the penalty area between the goalkeeper's legs.

Arsenal managed to score the equalizer through Leandro Trossard in the 52nd minute, after a cross from Saka inside the penalty area passed in front of everyone and Trossard easily converted it into the net.

In the 90+4 minute, Aston Villa scored the decisive winning goal through Emiliano Buendía.
