Deschamps: The Draw is Tough, But We Are Ready
Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French national team, commented on the draw that resulted in a tough group for the team in the 2026 World Cup.
Deschamps said: "We have two strong and unknown teams awaiting the third team, but it is a balanced group."
He added: "Of course, there is motivation for Senegal, as is always the case when African teams face France, given that many of our players have African origins."
He continued: "The draw could have been more difficult as well; all the teams are of high quality, and the geographic area is fairly good. As for the training camp, we will decide on that later with the coaching staff, who are already conducting extensive surveys to choose the best option for us and to avoid long travel."
Deschamps continued his statements, saying: "It's not easy between the training camp and the training facilities, but it would be good to stay in an area where the temperatures are relatively moderate."
He added, "The goal is to maintain the players' readiness throughout the rest of the tournament," emphasizing that this will be the focus of his plan during the competition.
Deschamps concluded his remarks by referring to the geographical aspect of the matches, saying: "The matches will be held on the East Coast—New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Toronto—where the temperatures are cooler than the usual summer heat, which makes it easier for us to prepare better."
