Rafael Lozano, president of the Spanish Football Federation, expressed his satisfaction with the results of the 2026 World Cup draw, affirming his confidence in the Spanish national team's ability to lead their group in the tournament.

Lausanne said after the draw ceremony in Washington: "I am happy that Spain is the leader of this group, and we have a group where we speak Spanish a lot."

He added: "We have a great relationship with Saudi Arabia. We talked before the draw and each of us wished the other good luck so that we wouldn't end up facing each other, but in the end, it happened."

Lozano continued his speech, expressing his enthusiasm for the tournament, saying: "The countdown has begun. We must work hard because this is our role, and we need to inspire Spain to follow this World Cup closely."

He continued, directing his greetings to FIFA: "FIFA must be congratulated for the exceptional organization of the draw. I spoke with colleagues from other countries, and everyone confirmed that the organization and the group allocation process were very successful."

Regarding knowledge of all the group's competitors, Lozano said: "Spain knows its role well, and we have all the qualified teams already, so we are not living in uncertainty about who we will face."

Lausanne commented on the possibility of holding the Finalissima match against Argentina, saying: "It's true that they were a potential opponent; only a few details remain to be finalized, and we hope it takes place because it is a match that attracts great interest from both UEFA and CONMEBOL."
