Thursday 04-12-2025
German coach Hans Flick, the head coach of FC Barcelona, expressed his satisfaction after the victory over Atlético Madrid in the 19th round of La Liga, confirming that the team delivered an outstanding performance and was at a high level. He explained that the player substitutions were necessary to maintain everyone's readiness, while Dani Olmo's shoulder injury will be assessed after medical examinations.

Flick said: "I believe our performance was on another level; we fought together, and that was wonderful."

He continued: "It is very important to recover the players; some were not 100% ready, and we had to replace them. With the ball, we controlled more and created better spaces, which was very positive."

He added: "Rafinha is a very important player for us, and we saw him today as well as in the previous match. I am happy with the result and the three points. Pedri is fine but a little tired. Dani Olmo is suffering from shoulder problems, and we will see the results of the tests tomorrow."

Regarding the importance of the win, he said: "Yes, of course, it is always good to regain confidence against a strong team like Atlético Madrid."

He continued: "We will see if this is a turning point. I think it was one of our best matches, and I liked what I saw during the ninety minutes. The first minutes were in favor of Atlético, but we took control afterward. We did not give up, and I am proud of what I saw. We took a step forward, and now we have to face Betis, which is a strong team, and we must try to win."

He added: "Rafinha gives the team dynamism and a positive playing intensity on the field. Thanks to the quality of Juan Garcia, the management made a successful signing, and he provides stability to the team."

He concluded his statements by saying: "Everyone witnessed the performance of the central defender, who helped both in building up play and defending. The changes were necessary, and the players who came on adapted quickly. We played with five defenders in the final minutes, and everyone participated with full enthusiasm."
