Shikabala directs sharp criticism at Helmy Tolalan
Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala, former Zamalek star, directed sharp criticism at Helmy Tolalan, the head coach of Egypt's second national team participating in the Arab Cup.
The match between Egypt and Kuwait in the first round of the group stage of the Arab Cup ended in a 1-1 draw.
Shikabala criticized Helmy Tolalan's choices for the national team's substitute bench, saying in a television interview after the match: "If you look at Egypt's bench, you'll find three players for the right-back position, and that's not a bench that can change the game. I don't understand the basis for these choices, and this is something that raises a question mark for me."
He continued: "The midfield of the Egyptian national team was somewhat similar, meaning the three players who started were all in a straight line, and Afsha had to play."
