Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa made a phone call to the Syrian national team players to congratulate them on their victory over Tunisia in the 2025 Arab Cup held in Qatar.
The Syrian national team defeated their Tunisian counterparts 1-0, with the goal scored by player Omar Khribin from a free kick.
During the call, Al-Shar addressed the players saying, "You have done us proud, you lifted our heads high. What a beautiful goal, you have made all Syrians happy," pointing out that this victory represents an important step in bringing joy to the Syrian fans.
He also promised to work on maintaining sports facilities and to focus on Syrian sports with the goal of reaching the World Cup in the coming years, and he thanked the national team coach José.
