Sports broadcaster Ahmed Shobeir described the exclusion of Ahmed Atef, the ZED Club striker, from Egypt's second national team camp participating in the Arab Cup as an unfair decision.

Shobeir said in a radio statement: "The coach has the right to choose, but what happened to Ahmed Atef was unfair. The player traveled with the national team while he was healthy and motivated."

He added: "When they were trying to include Marwan Hamdi, they said that Atef was injured even though the player confirmed he was perfectly fine. He was pressured to appear injured because the regulations do not allow a player to be replaced unless injured. In the end, he was blamed even though there was nothing wrong with him."

The Egyptian national team will face the Kuwaiti national team tomorrow, Tuesday, in the first round of the group stage of the Arab Cup.
