Ecuadorian Moises Caicedo put his team Chelsea in a difficult position after being sent off during his team's ongoing match against Arsenal, in the 13th round of the English Premier League.

The red card came after a strong tackle by Caicedo on Arsenal player Mikel Merino's foot in the 35th minute, where the referee initially showed a yellow card following a stoppage of play for several minutes due to the players falling.

Afterwards, the referee received a warning from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to review the incident, and after checking the screen, the referee decided to rescind the yellow card and issue a direct red card, considering Caicedo's tackle dangerous and warranting a dismissal.

Caicedo is considered one of the key pillars in Chelsea's midfield, which made his sending off disrupt the team in a crucial and decisive match against a direct competitor for the top positions.

Caicedo is expected to be suspended for 3 matches following this red card.
