Historic Superiority of Al-Ahli Before the Al-Qadsiah Clash in the King’s Cup Quarterfinal
Saturday 29-11-2025
Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah will host an anticipated match on Friday evening between Al-Ahli and their guest Al-Qadsiah, as part of the quarter-final round of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup. This clash promises a lot, following two previous encounters earlier this season.

Al-Ahli aims to strengthen its results against Al-Qadisiyah after having defeated them twice this season; first in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final with a 5-1 victory, and second in the ninth round of the Roshn League with a 2-1 win.

Al-Ahli enters the match with a historical advantage in the King's Cup, holding a better record than Al-Qadsiah ahead of their fourth encounter in the tournament since its inception in the 1966-67 season.

The two teams have faced each other three times in the King's Cup; Al-Ahli won twice, while Al-Qadsiah secured one victory, which gives the edge to Al-Raqi ahead of Friday's match.

The first meeting between them took place in the King’s Cup during the 1977-78 season, with Al-Ahli winning 2-1. Al-Qadsiah later evened the score by winning 4-2 on penalties in the Round of 16 of the 2014-15 season, after a 1-1 draw in regular time.

Al-Ahli reasserted their dominance in the last King’s Cup encounter of the 2016-17 season by winning 3-1, with goals from Hussein Al-Moqahwi, Omar Al-Soma, and Saad Abdulamir, while Bismark scored the sole goal for Al-Qadsiah.

All eyes are on Jeddah to see whether Al-Ahli will continue its historic dominance over Al-Qadsiah in the King's Cup, or if the eastern team will be able to defy expectations and secure the ticket to advance.
