Sudan and Comoros Complete the List of Qualifiers for the Arab Cup

The list of the sixteen teams qualified for the group stage of the Arab Cup Qatar 2025 has been completed, following the conclusion of the final round of playoff matches held this evening.

The Sudan and Comoros national teams succeeded in securing the last two available spots for the tournament, joining the list of teams qualified through the rankings and other teams that advanced through the playoff matches.

In the last two playoff matches, the Sudanese national team secured their qualification by defeating the Lebanese team with a score of 2-1, thereby securing their place in Group D.

In the second match, the Comoros national team drew with the Yemeni national team with a score of 4-4 after regular time ended. The two teams then proceeded to a penalty shootout, which the Comoros team won 4-2, qualifying for Group B.

In addition to Sudan and the Comoros Islands, five other teams qualified through the playoffs, bringing the total number of teams qualifying through the repechage to seven. The other qualified teams are:

Syria: After their victory over South Sudan.

Kuwait: After their victory over Mauritania.

Palestine: After their victory over Libya in the penalty shootout.

Bahrain: After their victory over Djibouti.

Oman: After their victory over Somalia in a penalty shootout.

Final groups of the tournament

With the completion of the qualified teams, the sixteen teams were divided into four groups as follows:

Group One: includes Qatar (the host country), Tunisia, Syria, and Palestine.

The second group includes Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the Comoros Islands.

Group Three: includes Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.

Group D: includes Algeria (the defending champion), Iraq, Bahrain, and Sudan.
